The accident occurred at around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, when his driver lost control of the vehicle and flipped over. Multiple reports indicate that the roads were unusually slick due to heavy rainfall in the state of Jalisco. According to El Debate, Fernandez suffered minor injuries in an arm and a leg and was immediately taken to local hospital San Javier. As Fernandez confirmed via Twitter, he was released the same day. A member of his security team who suffered injuries is reportedly being treated at the same hospital.
