
Princess Nokia, Nina Sky, Sango, Maluca, Los Rakas, and Tito Puente Jr. are among the diverse artists coming together for the 2016 Afro-Latino Festival, set for July 8-10 in New York City.
Organizers describe the festival, now in its fourth year, as “a networking space to pay tribute to the African roots of people from Latin America and the Caribbean,” with documentaries and a series of talks on the program as well as music.

QUE BAJO?!, El Caribefunk, Dj Jigüe of Guampara Productions, Nickodemus, Bed-Stuy Social, Makossa Brooklyn Cookout, Aurelio Martinez, Rich Medina, BullA en el Barrio, OSHUN, El Freaky, Making Movies, MecániK InformaL, Carolina Camacho, Afrodisíaco, Yurby, Joshue Ashby & C3 Project, DJ BEMBONA, Cynthia Montaño, Madame Vacile, Big Nito, Blackheart Intl Soundsystem, DJ Ritmo Equis, Proyeccion Folclorico and Zuzuka Poderosa are also scheduled to appear.
The festival takes place at Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and S.O.B.’s in Manhattan, and Bed-Stuy Restoration Plaza and C’Mon Everybody in Brooklyn.
