It was only a matter of time.
If Adele’s “Hello” is being covered all over the place in all sorts of styles, so why not a Spanish cover? Or French? Never mind that adaptations require permission from copyright holders; the floodgates have opened.

A casual Twitter referral led us to a beautiful cover by American Idol alum Karen Rodriguez on YouTube and others — many highly produced and arranged and accompanied by original videos.
Here are some of our favorites:
1. Kevin Karla & La Banda: This Chilean brother/sister duo boasts great pipes (her) and a smooth R&B feel (him). And a lot of fans. Their all-Spanish, fully orchestrated version of “Hello” has collected more than 1 million views of their lyric video, released a month ago. The recently released full-fledged video has amassed more than 250,000 views in a week.
2. Karen Rodriguez: This high-quality version, filmed at Premier Studios in New York City studio, features American Idol alum Karen Rodriguez singing “Hello” first in a Spanish version and then in English. Rodriguez also has a bilingual version of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” on her YouTube channel. At press time, Rodriguez’s “Hello” had a little over 2,000 views.
3. Twin Melody: Yes, they’re twins. These two cute, blonde girls sing “Hello” harmonizing over a simple guitar accompaniment in this homemade video that kicks off in English and then goes into Spanish. It’s homemade but already has over 700,000 views.
4. Caro Bermudez: Although Bermudez’s audio is more of a demo, her version has its own full-fledged black-and-white video that shows her walking alone through a desolate park. The video already has over 150,000 views. Bermudez also has a Spanish-language cover of “When We Were Young.”
5. Eli Zamora: The video may be homespun and the camera work shaky, but the vocals are great over the piano accompaniment.
6. Sara’h: And as a bonus, why not a little French? This version from Sara’h, who has a prolific list of French covers (including versions “El Perdon” and “Love me like you do”), has over 2 million views.
