The Latin American Music Awards 2016 nominees were announced Tuesday (Aug. 31), with artists like Yandel, Banda MS, Becky G, Prince Royce, Gente de Zona, Gloria Trevi, Pitbull and Farruko competing in the more than 20 categories.
With six nods each, Banda MS and Yandel lead the list of nominees for the second edition of the awards ceremony. Nicky Jam and Enrique Iglesias are close behind with five nominations, including Artist of the Year, while J Balvin and Los Plebes de Ariel Camacho have four each.

Along with the announcement of the nominations, the first round of performers have also been revealed. CNCO, Gerardo Ortiz, Gente de Zona, Jesse & Joy, Prince Royce, Victor Manuelle and Dvicio are set to perform on Oct. 6. The ceremony will be hosted by Mexican singer and actress Lucero, who will also sing during the show.
Additionally, the 2016 Latin AMA’s will include a special tribute to late singer Juan Gabriel, who passed away Aug. 28 at 66 years old.
The Latin AMA’s will take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcasted live on Telemundo. The Spanish television network and Somos Productions will produce the show, which will begin with a one-hour red carpet special.
