Tim McGraw is finally giving fans new music after two years. The country superstar released “Neon Church” Thursday (Oct. 4), which is the first single off an upcoming 2019 project, along with an additional track, “Thought About You.”
“I need Jesus or I need whiskey, Whatever works just to get me through getting over you,” McGraw heartbreakingly opens “Neon Church” with his characteristically classic country vocals. “Thought About You” is equally as powerful, touching on the ideas of lost love and missed opportunity, a poignant, yet all-too-relatable topic.
“I love that there are no rules anymore and I can give fans more music at once,” the Grammy winner said, as the singles mark the first new music off Columbia Nashville/McGraw Music. “I really felt that both these songs were ready to be heard and will absolutely give a sense of where I’m going with my next project. They’re meaningful to me and show the diversity of what I’ve been working on musically.”
