Sheryl Crow returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening (Sept. 9), in support of her new album of collaborations, Threads. Jason Isbell joined the singer on guitar and vocals for a rollicking four-minute performance of “Everything Is Broken.”
Trading verses on the song while singing of people bending the rules, the upbeat tune featured Crow on guitar and harmonica while Isbell’s soulful voice and standout guitar playing were highlighted beside her.
Threads is Crow’s final album, released in August. It features an all-star cast of collaborators including Chris Stapleton, Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Walsh, Stevie Nicks, Maren Morris and Brandi Carlile, among others.
“It’s the most important people who I have worked with throughout my life, my career or the people who I wanted to emulate when I was a kid, and whom I’ve gotten to know,” Crow said of the project. “Stevie Nicks, whom I adore, Keith Richards and Willie Nelson, people who embraced me and welcomed me to the party.”
