RaeLynn just wrapped a nearly two-month-long run on the 2018 installment of the CMT Next Women of Country Tour, but she certainly isn’t done performing this year. The 23-year-old will make appearances at festivals around the country over the summer, first making a stop in Las Vegas for a few events surrounding the Academy of Country Music Awards this weekend.
When RaeLynn is on the road, what does she need with her? “Lip gloss, dry shampoo and my bible — all the things a Southern girl could need,” the Baytown, Texas, native tells Billboard. “And maybe a little Corona.”
She also shared one of her best memories from being on the road, which was from her tour with Blake Shelton. But while the tour was a full-circle situation for RaeLynn, as she got her start on Team Blake on Season 2 of The Voice, the moment she’ll never forget is hearing her hit “Love Triangle” sung back to her.
“Hearing the fans sing back ‘Love Triangle’ was one of the coolest moments ever because ‘Love Triangle’ is such a personal song for me, because I wrote it about my parents’ divorce,” she explains. “And there was something about that song that was so amazing. Everybody in the stadium had their lights out, and you could just see all the people that the song has impacted.”
Along with tour talk, RaeLynn shared her ideal day off, the song that’s stuck in her head right now, and who her biggest “Queen” is in her life, in line with her latest single, “Queen.” Check out RaeLynn’s full video interview above, and watch the ACMs when they broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
