Updated Feb. 23: Miranda Lambert announced on social media Tuesday (Feb. 23), that her new song with Elle King will be titled “Drunk (and I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” It drops Friday (Feb. 26).
Miranda Lambert and Elle King got their fans in a frenzy after teasing a collaboration on Monday (Feb. 22) that looks to be coming soon. While the two didn’t share details, Billboard can confirm that Lambert and King do indeed have a new song together.
“.@EllKingMusic [side-eye emoji] #DRUNK,” Lambert tweeted along with a photo of the two together, with King smoking in a wedding dress, can of beer in hand, while the “Settling Down” singer appeared to be a bridesmaid in a metallic pink dress and teased hair with baby’s breath.
“The Let Go” singer also shared a photo of the two to tease fans on Twitter. “The whiskey goes down better when they don’t know who you are…,” she captioned a snap of Lambert and herself in a pastel palette. Like Lambert, she also hashtagged her post “#DRUNK,” hinting that that may be the song title.
Though the two didn’t say definitively in their tweets that they have a new song on the horizon, fans were quick to come to the correct conclusion in the Twitter comments.
“OMG STOP. Dream collab,” tweeted one fan in response to Lambert’s post.
Added another, “This is a collab I’ve been waiting for.”
Over on King’s tweet, fans were equally thrilled. “I’m so excited for this!” wrote one follower. “It’s a duet I didn’t know I needed!”
“Ommggggg a new single soon???????? I can’t even hold in my excitement!!!” another person responded.
King previously joined Lambert on 2019’s Roadside & Pink Guitars Tour. In addition, the two sang on Lambert’s cover of “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” which also featured Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack, who were all part of Lambert’s 2019 tour.
