The three-minute clip of the pair’s new collaboration starts out as a blank page before Nashville-based artist Sydney Clawson draws them onto her canvas.
The sweet ode to love was released by Morris earlier this year and is featured on her sophomore album Girl. An assist by Hozier in the new version of the track, which dropped on Oct. 4, gives the song added meaning and in the hyper-lapse video, the two singers emerge on the canvas with the delicate strokes of Clawson’s brush.
Morris previously praised Hozier’s artistry upon the reveal of their collaboration. “Hozier’s soul and vulnerability is so arresting and fit so well with the foundational theme of my song ‘The Bones,’” she said. “I feel so grateful to have him on it.”
The singer-songwriter co-wrote “The Bones” with Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz, and it serves as a celebration of her relationship with husband and fellow singer-songwriter Ryan Hurd. The couple recently announced that they are expecting their first child together, a boy, in March.
