Maddie & Tae have made waves in the country world for their brazen honesty, traditional influence and pop-like style. Now they’re making waves with the cheeky new video for their single “Shut Up and Fish,” premiering exclusively on Billboard.com.

The song is one of the singles from their debut album, Start Here, which was released earlier this year. The video features Maddie & Tae making both camo and fishing gear look fashionable as they sabotage a preppy player — played by Tae’s brother, Mason Dye.
“When we knew we were doing this,” Tae says, “and we needed a guy to hit on a girl, I knew my brother was perfect. He’s a great character actor, and he could completely pull of that kinda guy, even though he grew up fishing like I did.”
The singers even go so far as to sink a boat to make their point — if you take them on an outdoor date, don’t talk, just “Shut Up and Fish” (or else).
“One of the best things about video is you can say things with humor that need saying, and it’s okay,” Tae adds. “Our parents were all about you stand up for yourselves… You can do whatever you dream, and you don’t need a boy to go fishing or be whole. Funny thing is: I don’t think any of our parents realized they were feeding our songwriting.”

Madde & Tae recently won the CMA award for best video for their debut single “Girl in a Country Song,” which also hit number one on the Billboard Country Charts.
