This year has proven to be one of the most unique in recent history when it comes to artists breaking genre barriers. With Bebe Rexha collaborating with Florida Georgia Line to Carrie Underwood working with Ludacris, 2018 has been full of unique collaborative efforts. Now, it seems Luke Bryan wants to be the next one to have a crossover hit.
When on the red carpet at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday (June 6), Bryan revealed that fellow American Idol judge Katy Perry is in his sights when it comes to a collaboration. “My thing is kind of the song and the moment that dictates it,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s hard to say…me and Katy may have something in the works one day, would be fun.”
Bryan also said that he’s already recorded tracks with his other co-judge Lionel Richie, though it seems like it won’t see the light of day anytime soon. “I wouldn’t call it big news. It was something that Lionel was working on, it was a couple of years ago,” he said.
