Arnold Schwarzenegger was an action star before becoming governor of California, Ronald Reagan was an actor before becoming president and Sonny Bono was a musician before he was a congressman — so who’s to say Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley couldn’t be country superstars-turned-commanders in chief?
This is the scenario Billboard posed on the red carpet at the ACM Awards earlier this month, asking Bryan and Bentley’s fellow country stars what the Secret Service code names would be for the night’s hosts if they ever ended up in the Oval Office. Once they got over the shock of imagining the “Drunk on You” and “Drunk on a Plane” hitmakers as politicians (“I’d be in Canada if those two jokers were in there,” Rascal Flatts frontman Gary LeVox quipped), they came up with some pretty good answers.
Watch the video below for suggestions from Darius Rucker, Cole Swindell, Kelsea Ballerini and many more. One thing’s for sure: “It’d be a party in the White House,” Chase Bryant tells Billboard.
