Welcome back to Takeover Tuesday, where each week Billboard taps chart-topping artists and taste-makers to compile their very own playlist exclusive to Billboard’s Spotify account. We give the artists free reign to base the list on whatever subject they choose. The only rule? Make it as creative and unique to them as possible.
Country duo LOCASH have just released the infectious single “Don’t Get Better Than That” and are gearing up to release their second album in 2018. In addition to their new tune, the duo have decided to share an exclusive workout playlist, just in time for your New Year’s resolutions.
“New year. New album. New song and New Year resolutions! ‘Tis the Season to get pumped up, even in the gym! So here’s a playlist we made of some of our favorite gym jams we rock while we’re workin’ out,” the duo told Billboard.
The playlist includes an eclectic collection of brand-new pop hits like “Filthy” by Justin Timberlake, to old classics like “Miami” by Will Smith. They even gave country-turned-pop star Taylor Swift a shout-out by adding “Ready For it?” to the list. According to the witty duo, it’s perfect for “after you’ve eaten too many Taylor tots.” Nice.
In addition to the pop hits, the duo also added some of their favorite country jams. they included “Make Me Wanna” by Thomas Rhett, calling it “one of our favorite country songs. Makes us wanna get ‘Rhetty’ for summer.” They also added Liam Payne’s iconic jam “Strip That Down.” “What can we say,” LOCASH said, “no Payne, no gain!”
After noting that Shawn Mendes “hit it outta the park” with their playlist pick “Treat You Better,” the duo declared, “Now get your butt to the gym & Treat YOU Better!”
