Lauren Alaina made her Dancing With the Stars debut Monday night with a little help from Shania Twain. The country singer proved she knew her way around the dance floor while she did the cha-cha-cha to Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”
The singer didn’t leave her country roots behind either. The opening sequence showed her donning a leopard-print cowboy hat while embracing choreographed moves during a chair routine with two other dancers. She’d then join partner Gleb Savchenko on the floor.
All smiles throughout the number, any nervousness Alaina may have had about her first performance was hidden. Alaina glided around the floor effortlessly with Savchenko on the season 28 premiere of DWTS. All the while, she lip-synced the words to Twain’s hit song.
“Hope I don’t drop the ball tomorrow!” the singer captioned a photo of herself on Instagram the day prior, while holding a disco ball in her hands. The singer recently revealed she pushed back her headlining tour for her DWTS appearance.
In addition to Alaina’s appearance on the show, the season 28 cast boasts a wide range of singers, actors and reality television stars, including Ally Brooke (Fifth Harmony), Bachelorette star Hannah Brown, actor-producer James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek), Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown, The Office alum Kate Flannery, All That’s Kel Mitchell, former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, The Supremes‘ Mary Wilson and Super Bowl MVP Ray Lewis.
