Welcome back to Takeover Tuesday, where each week Billboard taps chart-topping artists and tastemakers to compile their very own playlist exclusive to Billboard’s Spotify account. We give the artists free rein to base the list on whatever subject they choose. The only rule? Make it as creative and unique to them as possible.
Country five-piece LANCO just dropped their first album Hallelujah Nights on Jan. 19, and have given Billboard an exclusive playlist of songs that inspired their upbeat debut.
The group says the following songs helped influence them while writing their debut album, which is a fun ode to being young and carefree. The nostalgic themes on songs like Dawes’ “All Your Favorite Bands” stuck out to them them most, along with the anthemic, loud guitars in songs like The Killers’ classic “Mr. Brightside.”
Their playlist features a collection of fun country hits, such as “Springsteen” by Eric Church, and classic rock jams like “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin. LANCO said they felt inspired by the vocal harmonies in “Dixieland Delight” and “Song Of The South” by country rock group Alabama.
