Keith Urban popped by the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (June 26) to perform “Coming Home” off of his new album, Graffiti U.
In classic Urban fashion, the Australian country star put on such an energetic performance that it would have fit in perfectly in a stadium, let alone a late night set. “Coming Home” — which is built upon a spacey riff, originally sampled from the Merle Haggard song “Mama Tried” — grows until it reaches a stage-rattling chorus. Mix that with Urban’s charisma, and the results were sure to be fantastic.
Near the end of the song guest vocalist Julia Michaels, who co-wrote the song, appears on the screen behind the band for her beautiful section of the tune, harmonizing perfectly with the rest of the singers.
Graffiti U came out in late April, and features the singles “Female,” “Parallel Line” and “Coming Home”; it peaked at No.2 on the Billboard 200.
