
Kane Brown brought his reflective new single “Homesick” to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Sunday evening (Sept. 8), as part of the Sunday Night Football edition of the late night show. Dressed all in black, Brown’s booming vocals were at the forefront of the captivating song while backed by his band, which included a fiddle player, three guitarists and a drummer.
At the song’s close, Brown shared a heartfelt message to the U.S. military. “Shout-out to all the military out there that can’t be with y’alls families,” he said. “I love you guys and thank y’all for everything that y’all do.”
In addition to Brown’s performance, the special Sunday edition of Fallon featured featured Jamie Foxx, Michael B. Jordan, Kelly Clarkson and Post Malone.
“Homesick” was written by Brown, Taylor Phillips (“Hurricane,” “Good As You”), Brock Berryhill (“What Happens in a Small Town,” “Good As You”) and Matthew McGinn (“What Ifs,” “Heaven in 2018 while the singer was on the road. It was inspired by Brown feeling homesick himself and missing then-fiancée Katelyn Jae. The song is featured on his sophomore album, Experiment, released in 2018.
