The Jonas Brothers performed at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night (Sept. 10), as part of their 2019 Happiness Begins Tour, and it was quite the event.
First, Kelsea Ballerini joined opener Bebe Rexha for a spirited performance of “Meant to Be.” A huge fan of the Jonas Brothers herself, Ballerini shared a photo with the trio from earlier in the day as well as a video of herself from 12 years ago when she entered a contest to meet the band.
“Only took 12 years to win the JoBro meet & greet,” she captions the photo and video. “Swipe for my 2008 contest entry from DEEP IN THE ARCHIVES OK GOODBYE.”
The trio then surprised the crowd with a special appearance by Dan + Shay. Midway into its set, the Jonas Brothers hinted at the duo’s upcoming feature.
“This is Nashville, right?” Joe Jonas said. “We thought, ‘How do we make this show real special for all these amazing people? How do we do something a little bit different? You know what? I think we should probably bring out some friends,’ I thought. Nashville, please give a warm welcome to our friends Dan + Shay.”
Moments later, the country duo joined the three brothers on stage for a stirring performance of “Tequila.” Dan + Shay traded verses with the Jonas Brothers on the duo’s previous hit, while all five men also assisted on harmonies during the song’s chorus.
