While his new single “Drink to That All Night” climbs the Hot 100 and country charts, Jerrod Niemann has confirmed his third major label release for March.
“High Noon,” the follow-up to 2012’s “Free the Music,” will be released March 25, Radio.com reports. The new album, his third distributed by Arista Nashville, was co-produced by Niemann and Jimmie Lee Sloas, who’s worked with Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes, among others.
In commemoration of the new release, a website — complete with a countdown to the album’s due date, free downloads and video content — was launched yesterday (Jan. 23).
“‘High Noon’ is a term that’s been in my mind since I was a kid,” Niemann explained on his website. “Growin’ up in Southwest Kansas, I actually lived in Dodge City, Kansas, where the old gunfighting days have such a historical value. I mean, Wyatt Earp is the main street, and high noon, if you think of it, it’s always meeting your adversary at noon, and goin’ out there, walkin’ a few steps, and turn around and face what you’re most afraid of, right then and there. So for me, every time any of us make a journey in our life for whatever we’re tryin’ to do — in this case makin’ music — I just think, ‘okay, my adversaries are party poopers, and I’m about to face that so that all of us can have a great time,’ hopefully, listening to this record.”
“Drink to That All Night,” the album’s first single, has peaked at No. 78 on the Hot 100, while climbing to No. 18 on Hot Country Songs. The song becomes his fifth top 20 single on the chart, including one No. 1 in 2010’s “Lover, Lover.”
His previous album effort, “Free the Music,” hit No. 9 on the Top Country Albums chart, while his major label debut, 2010’s “Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury,” topped the chart at No. 1.
