It’s been a couple years since Hunter Hayes last released a studio album and the 25-year-old is gearing up to approach things a bit differently this next time around.
Speaking with Billboard on the 2017 CMT Music Awards red carpet on Wednesday, Hayes teases a personal new single is on its way this month with much more material to follow.
“I wanna release music more often, more consistently and not all the same way,” he said. “That’s how I want music and that’s how I create music as well. Making a 12-song record is really fun and I love it but we make 100 songs to get a 12-song record…. It’s gonna be a little bit of everything, the big singles and the songs that just matter to me.
“The first song will be something that really just matters to me and message I wanted the fans to hear about the process, about the struggles of the ups and the downs of making music and getting to this point. And it feels very freeing to finally get to talk about it with them.”
