
You just might hear a Nashville power couples on the SiriusXM airwaves this weekend — but not as recording artists. Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood will be hosting special guest DJ session on James Taylor‘s limited-run SiriusXM channel. They played their 10 favorite James Taylor songs — ranging from the 1970s to Taylor’s latest album Before This World.

Both artists have long proclaimed Taylor as one of their major influences, with the pop icon helping induct Brooks into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2012. The radio special is part of a special weekend of Taylor programming, designed to promote the new disc, which is headed for a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200. Taylor performed at the Apollo Theater for a private, exclusive concert for SiriusXM listeners on Tuesday. The concert aired live nationwide on SiriusXM’s James Taylor Channel, Taylor’s limited-run SiriusXM channel.

Taylor also sat down for a Q&A session at the New York SiriusXM studios as part of the “Town Hall” series. The Q&A session, hosted by Bob Costas, featured Taylor discussing his new project with a select group of listeners.
