Florida Georgia Line sat down with Billboard to reminisce about 2018, during which their song “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha topped the Hot Country Songs chart for 50 weeks and the duo announced a five-show Las Vegas residency.
One of the group’s defining moments was headlining the Stagecoach music festival for a crowd of 100,000 people. “I counted 200,000,” Tyler Hubbard jokes, and Brian Kelley calls the tally “a redneck roundup.”
Hubbard also notes that 2018 was a time where FGL got to “slow down a little bit career-wise and give back and make a difference in the world,” heading down to Florida and Panama City to help with Hurricane Michael relief and starting a GoFundMe page. “For us, it feels really good, very fulfilling and definitely one of our proudest moments of 2018,” he says.
In 2019, the duo has more music in store. “We’re releasing our fourth album,” Hubbard reveals. “We’re really proud of it, we’ve been working all year on it so we’re really excited to get that out to the fans. We are going to kick off a new tour and continue to write as much as we can and do what we love. We’re excited about it.”
