Country singer Eric Church showed his versatility during his concert at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena over the weekend by paying homage to hometown hero Eminem.
On Saturday night during his Double Down Tour, Church performed an acoustic country rendition of Slim Shady’s Oscar-winning 8 Mile hit “Lose Yourself.” If you’re wondering what that might sound like, watch the video of the cover below.
In addition to his Eminem cover, Billboard also reported that at his Friday night show in Detroit, Church performed a medley of Motown classics, in addition to Bob Seger’s “Roll Me Away.” The Motown tribute included the Isley Brothers’ “This Old Heart of Mine,” The Supremes’ “Where Did Our Love Go,” Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” The Temptations’ “My Girl,” Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” and the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There.”
The Double Down Tour — which features two completely different shows in each city — makes its next stop in Cincinnati this weekend, and the jaunt is scheduled to wrap up in June.
