Diplo has gone country. Ahead of his set this weekend at the 2019 Stagecoach Festival, the producer has unveiled a new country project called Thomas Wesley today (April 24).
The new moniker is borrowed from his birth name, Thomas Wesley Pentz. Country singer Cam is featured on the infectious first track “So Long,” out now.
Alongside thumping beats, Cam’s soothing vocals enter as she promises to treat him well. “Don’t know why you’re scared to let me love you/ You know I could treat you right,” she croons at the track’s start.
No stranger to collaborations, Diplo has previously taken on various musical personas as part of Major Lazer, LSD with Sia and Labrinth, as well as Silk City with Mark Ronson.
Diplo will play Stagecoach’s first-ever Stagecoach Late Night this weekend at the festival’s Palomino stage on Sunday (April 28). Cam is also scheduled to perform at Stagecoach on Saturday (April 27), on the Mane Stage.
