Darryl Worley took a step back from the spotlight in 2008 to help raise his daughter, and now the country singer is ready for his return. On April 26, Worley will release Second Wind: Latest & Greatest. The project marks his first full-length album in eight years.
The 15-track album includes eight of Worley’s biggest hits and seven new songs. Billboard exclusively reveals the track list below, as well as a brand-new song called “Whiskey Makes Me Think About You,” which the singer penned with Billy Lawson and Ed Hill.
“We picked the hits for this project based on the order that they came in because there will be a volume 2 of my greatest hits,” Worley tells Billboard. “We wrote the new songs with a Muscle Shoals flair to create a different vibe for the project. The new stuff has substance in a little different package.”

That “Muscle Shoals flair” can be heard in the laidback feel of “Whiskey Makes Me Think About You.” On the track — whose video you can watch below — Worley admits that he “needs to acquire a whole new taste” and requests “less spike in my Coca-Cola” so he isn’t left drowning his sorrows in whiskey while thinking of an ex.
Worley’s new project will include several of his previous hits reimagined and will be released by Bob Frank’s BFD via The Orchard. The album was co-produced with guitarist Billy Lawson, and Worley says fans can expect updated versions of “Tennessee River Run” and his first No. 1 “I Miss My Friend.” Other fan favorites include “Awful Beautiful Life” and “Have You Forgotten.” He adds that the songs came out exactly how they sound when his band plays them live.
“Making this music was a dream come true. I was surrounded by people that totally get who I am, and we laughed our way through the whole process. Working with Billy Lawson was a blessing,” he adds.
