The nominations for the 2018 CMT Music Awards, one of country music’s biggest nights, are finally in. Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean join Carrie Underwood — who currently holds the most CMT wins to date — in the top spot with four nominations each.
The awards show will broadcast live from Nashville on June 6, and this year’s list of nominees include one of its more musically diverse roundups since the event’s inception. Artists from the genres of pop, hip-hop, Americana and R&B are all included, with many receiving first time nominations.
History is also being made within the video of the year category, as pop artists are in the running for the sought-after award for the first time. Justin Timberlake’s video for his crossover hit “Say Something” featuring Chris Stapleton is up for the award, as is Bebe Rexha’s smash collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, “Meant to Be,” which has held the top spot of the Hot Country Songs chart for 23 weeks.
The CMT Music Awards will be hosted by chart-toppers Little Big Town — nominated in three categories this year — marking the hit-making group’s first time hosting an awards show. The winners within each category are decided by fan vote, open now on CMT.com.
