The crowd went wild as Academy of Country Music Award’s Male Vocalist of the Year nominee Chris Young took the stage at WME’s BASH at the BEACH to present the first ever Aflac ACM Lifting Lives Honor to Judith Pinkerton —a music therapist selected for her outstanding accomplishments and dedication to the field.
Aflac partnered with ACM Lifting Lives to create this distinguished honor to recognize someone for his or her remarkable and selfless dedication to bringing the healing power of music to those who are in need. The inaugural recognition honored excellence in music therapy. Judith Pinkerton is a renowned expert in the industry with decades of experience in music-based healing. Pinkerton has used these skills to help those suffering from a variety of ailments including extensive work with pediatric cancer patients. Pinkerton has used her expertise and music skills to help these children reduce their stress and anxiety so they can focus on experiencing the joys of childhood.
Aflac has been a committed supporter to children and their families combating childhood cancer for decades, including significant financial contributions to the childhood cancer cause and the Family Support Team at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The cancer center has a nationally recognized music therapy program that contributes greatly to the industry.
The honor presentation kicked off a night of country music performances at WME’s two-night BASH at the BEACH in Las Vegas—where Chris Young would take the stage again on Saturday night for a headlining performance. His passionate fans waded right into the water at Mandalay Bay Beach to get closer to the country music star while they sang along to his energetic set.
The country superstar had another high-profile performance Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Chris Young is well known for his impressive accomplishments in singing and songwriting, but also for his generosity and efforts in philanthropy. His passion for music education and his work with pediatric cancer patients introduced him to the significant positive impact of music therapy, and he was eager to present the Aflac ACM Lifting Lives Honor to highlight the power of music.
Aflac and WME presented generous donations during BASH at the BEACH to ACM Lifting Lives, the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music with the mission to impact lives through the power of music.
