Carrie Underwood shared a cryptic new Instagram post on Wednesday (April 4), in which she looks super focused in the studio. With no new projects officially announced just yet, the country superstar left fans to wonder if new music is on the way.
The picture is one of Underwood’s more recent photos of herself following a facial injury in November. Underwood posted the pic without a caption and only included one side of her face, which both increased the speculation of a new album and the extremity of her scars.
Despite sharing few recent pictures of herself, Underwood has still been very active on social media as of late. Just Tuesday (April 3), the star took to Twitter to express her frustration over NHL’s Nashville Predators — her husband Mike Fisher’s team — losing to the Florida Panthers.
Though Underwood has not announced any new album plans recently, the 35-year-old released the Ludacris-assisted single “Champion” in January ahead of the Super Bowl and Winter Olympic Games, which she promoted with a fan-made video campaign on her social media. The singer was recently revealed as a 2018 CMA Fest performer, so between her mysterious studio pic and the performance, Underwood is certainly making fans eager for some album news. If a new album is on the way, it would be Underwood’s first full-length since 2015’s Storyteller.
