The Backstreet Boys‘ AJ McLean has joined the Country Music Association in Nashville, it was announced Friday (March 2).
The pop singer may seem like somewhat of an odd addition for the country organization, but as he said in a statement, “I’m kind of a chameleon.” He also last year made his official debut foray into the genre with the Backstreet Boys on Florida Georgia Line’s 2017 hit “God, Your Mama, and Me,” as well as a number of high profile performances around it.
A press release making the announcement teased solo music on the way for McLean. This news should suggest a bit of what we can expect to hear.
