Vanessa Hudgens isn’t just co-hosting the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. She’s also using them to remind us that she’s, like, a singer, too. The former High School Musical star opened Sunday night’s (May 21) show by taking co-host Ludacris‘ challenge to show off her her Nicki Minaj rhyme skills after the Monsta herself wrecked the stage with a killer medley.
“We are surrounded by the biggest names in music,” Luda reminded his partner. “Celine Dion is here! She’s performing tonight. I am totally freaking out,” Hudgens said. “She is like the Meryl Streep of music. You know I used to sing Celine’s ‘The Power of Love’ on my karaoke machine when I was like seven.”
So, of course, Ludacris put her on the spot again and made Vanessa prove her Dion cred as well. Vanessa crushed it. Watch her sing “The Power of Love” as the crowd goes wild:
