Two weeks after delivering a heartfelt rendition of “Remember You Young” on the 2019 Country Music Association Awards, Thomas Rhett turned up the energy for his American Music Awards performance of his dance-worthy hit “Look What God Gave Her.”
Dancing all around the stage amid a color-changing backdrop and firework bursts, the country hitmaker was clearly having a great time performing the song, high-fiving fans and smiling as he belted out the fun tune. Toward the end of the performance, Rhett was so hyped that he jumped into the crowd for an up-close-and-personal moment with the crowd.
Rhett’s performance had everyone dancing along with him, including his fellow country superstars Carrie Underwood and Shania Twain, and even The Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am.
“Look What God Gave Her” became Rhett’s thirteenth No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart in June. The singer, who was up for favorite country male artist at this year’s awards, partnered with the AMAs and Wells Fargo for its Feeding America campaign, for which he surprised Wells Fargo volunteers at a local food bank in Nashville.
