In addition to an already lengthy roster of star-studded performances, NBC announced Wednesday (May 16) that Shawn Mendes and Khalid will take the stage together on Sunday at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, delivering the television debut of their recent collaboration, the evocative duet “Youth.”
“Youth,” which dropped May 3, is the third single from Mendes’ highly anticipated self-titled third studio album, following previous singles “In My Blood” and “Lost in Japan.”
Khalid and Mendes join the schedule of previously announced performers, including Camila Cabello, BTS, Dua Lipa, John Legend and more.
Khalid is up for five BBMAs this year: top new artist, top R&B artist, top R&B male artist, top R&B album and top R&B song. Mendes is a nominee for top social artist.
Kelly Clarkson will host the three-hour telecast of this year’s BBMAs, which will broadcast live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.
