Sam Hunt brought new single “Downtown’s Dead” to hundreds of screaming fans on Nashville’s Broadway tonight (Jun. 6) for the CMT Music Awards.
Donning his typical black tee, jeans and ball cap outfit, Hunt started the performance from inside the Legends Corner bar, before walking out onto the main strip, occasionally ducking into other bars to say hey. He eventually ended up on a massive stage in the middle of the street for the song’s final chorus, fireworks going off in the sky behind him.
The shouts for the genre-blending country heartthrob occasionally drowned out his vocals, but he impressive stayed on pitch throughout the resounding performance. Watch the live debut of Hunt’s new single below.
