Sabrina Carpenter spoke with Billboard’s Chelsea Briggs on the red carpet at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday (May 1), chatting about being a fan of Panic! At The Disco, what fans can expect from her new music, and more.
Carpenter, who will be presenting Panic! At The Disco’s performance at the show, tells Billboard that she is a very big fan of theirs and that she grew up listening to them. “I’m excited,” she says. “I love their new music, and it’s gonna be amazing.”
In the interview, the singer also chats about her upcoming album Singular: Act II, revealing that it is “coming soon.”
“I just may have teased the next song coming in a couple, I don’t wanna say days, I don’t wanna say hours…I don’t wanna say minutes, but soon,” she continues. “Very soon. I’m very excited for everyone to hear it. I think this song that I’m releasing is probably my most personal song, which is exciting.”
Asked about what she dives into with this song, Carpenter responds that it is about her life. “Probably just the side that I don’t always get to show on a daily basis,” she explains. “I think that’s what music’s for. It’s therapeutic, but there’s a lot of different sounds in Act II that I’m excited about.”
