Count on Pitbull to deliver the element of surprise. Big time.
When we heard the Miami rapper was going to perform “Fun,” featuring Chris Brown, at the Billboard Music Awards, we confess we wondered how different it could be from their “American Idol” performance a few nights back.
In a word, radically.
It started with an introduction from his good friend Jennifer Lopez, looking absolutely stunning in a clingy dress that looked painted on and exposed toned abs and plenty of cleavage.
Then came Pitbull (dressed in white pants and blue jacket), there was Brown (all in red, a total change from the black suit he wore at idol) and there was Pitbull’s dance troupe–“The Most Bad Ones” (the awkward name is a deliberate spoof from the Spanish “Las Más Malas”), wearing white evening gowns slit open to the waist on one side.
And then there was everything else.
With The Most Bad Ones prancing along, Pitbull and Brown had the crowd at the MGM Grand on its feet during the entire performance.
While “Fun” is Pitbull’s new single from last year’s album, Globalization, expect his new Spanish language album in July.
