P!nk has never been shy about telling it like it is and she held true to that at the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday night (Nov. 19) in Los Angeles.
Cameras caught a few glimpses of the singer while Christina Aguilera performed the highly anticipated tribute to Whitney Houston and The Bodyguard‘s 25th anniversary, which resulted in some Twitter comments about her expressions as Aguilera sang. While many online took P!nk’s looks to suggest displeasure, they were clearly wrong. Shortly after, P!nk took to Twitter herself to comment on the matter, expressing that she was simply “in awe” of Aguilera’s performance.
“Christina fucking killed it tonight for one of our favorite singers ever,” P!nk wrote in response to another Twitter user’s comment defending her. “This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina’s talent. Show the clip where I’m in tears, you negative Nancy’s.”
Aguilera started out with “I Will Always Love You,” then went into “I Have Nothing,” “Run To You” — which is when P!nk’s reaction was especially noticed — and closed with “I’m Every Woman.”
P!nk proceeded to absolutely nail her own performance not long after Aguilera left the stage, which she performed hanging by hire wire on the side of the JW Marriott hotel in downtown Los Angeles. It was one diva moment after the next and P!nk wasn’t going to let the haters take away from that.
Yes. THIS. Christina fucking killed it tonight for one of our favorite singers ever. This about Whitney, and I am in awe of Christina’s talent. Show the clip where I’m in tears, you negative Nancy’s —-?–?? https://t.co/5Lroq73xrQ
