Midland caught up with Billboard’s Annie Reuter on the red carpet at the ACM Awards on Sunday (Apr. 7), where they were joined by actor Dennis Quaid, who stars in their new music video for the song “Mr. Lonely.”
Speaking of the teaser video for the song’s visuals, which was released this week, the band tells Billboard that the video essentially serves as a line dance tutorial, and they hope to bring back the tradition of going out with friends on a Saturday night to go dancing.
At that point, Quaid himself joins the interview, as he reveals that he had a great time working with the country trio on the video. “I love this band, I was a fan before they asked me and I’m so glad to be a part of it,” Quaid says. “And Cam directed it and came up with everything. It’s really good…It was like a Buster Keaton comedy, you know? Slapstick, from the old days, and it was just a lot of fun. I have a lot of bruises from it, but it was a lotta fun.”
Midland also reveal that they will be joined by Dennis Quaid and the Sharks for a couple of live show dates this year, and that fans can expect a new album from them later this summer.
