Dutch wunderkind Martin Garrix had a big weekend, releasing his new single “Used to Love,” a collaboration with Dean Lewis, on Friday before playing a big gig in Wuhan, China on Sunday evening — the same night he won the best electronic award at the MTV EMAs over in Seville, Spain.
While limits of the space-time continuum meant Garrix wasn’t able to attend the award ceremony, which included performances by Rosalia, Halsey, Green Day and Dua Lipa, Garrix shared his appreciation for the honor via social media, writing “Thank you MTV EMA and everybody who voted. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there this year but your support means the world to me!”
The producer continues his Chinese tour tomorrow (Nov. 5) in Zhuhai.
