Luke Combs swung by the red carpet at the 53rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, chatting with Billboard’s Kevan Kenney about a new deluxe version of his debut LP dropping in June and his upcoming European tour.
Discussing why he decided to release a deluxe version of his album This One’s For You, which features five brand new tracks, Combs says, “I’ve been writing for a long time and I recorded it March of 2016, and so I’ve written hundreds of songs since then and I felt like it was time to get some new stuff out and these are my five favorite songs that I’ve written since I guess this first record came out.”
The “Hurricane” singer also talks about heading out on a European tour in the fall, explaining that while he loves both U.S. and European crowds, he definitely notices a difference between the two. “I think the crowds in Europe are songwriter crowds,” he states. “Like they are a fan of the words and they’re there to listen. An American crowd, they’re there to get rowdy, man. And I love both.”
