Little Big Town (Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet) lit up the stage at the 2018 CMT Music Awards at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. on June 6.
The country group kicked off the ceremony by performing their new single “Summer Fever” for the first time live, and the danceable track couldn’t have sounded better.
The ladies looked gorgeous in colorful sequined minidresses, and rainbow confetti rained down on the group as they all jammed out.
“Jesse had a really cool track, and we were talking about writing something fun for the summer,” Fairchild told CMT.com of the song. “All I remember is that we had the first few lines and then Cary Barlowe goes, ‘We’re about to float that Malibu with that flip-flop attitude.’ We were like, ‘Yes! That’s it.’ We just built towards the chorus, and we kept fine-tuning it. We want to see people dance on this song because it was so much fun to write.”
Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Backstreet Boys, Kelly Clarkson, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Charles Kelley, Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Kelsea Ballerini, Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton are all expected to take the stage as well — keep checking back at Billboard throughout the evening for full CMTs coverage.
