Backstage at Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music event, Lauren Jauregui shared some inspirational messages for her fans, opening up about the importance of women acknowledging their resilience and practicing self-love.
Asked what advice she would give to women who might be struggling to find their self-worth, Jauregui told Billboard that anyone feeling that way should look within themselves and acknowledge the “beautiful resilience” of having gotten through whatever caused them that pain in the first place.
“The fact that you’re still here and you’re still thriving and your essence is beautiful and what your face looks like and your body looks like is just a default setting of what it means to be alive and to be a woman,” she explained.
“Look within yourself for that light that is existent…you do have it. And no one else can give that to you but yourself.”
In the interview, Jauregui was also asked to share the best words of wisdom she ever received from a woman in her life, to which she emphasized the importance of practicing self-love.
