Nominated for best Latin pop album at the Grammys on Feb. 12, Italian singer/songwriter Laura Pausini can’t help but feel blessed for this type of recognition for her album Similares.
“It’s amazing. It is the most prestigious award of the entire world, so I really feel blessed,” Pausini shares with Billboard for our artist-shot Grammy video series. “I’m singing in Italian in Europe and Brazil and I’m singing in Spanish all over America and Spain, so to be nominated with Similares, which is the Spanish version of Simili, it’s an honor for me and my country.”
Pausini won a Grammy back in 2006 for her album Escucha. “I’m crossing my fingers again,” she says. Another artist she’s crossing her fingers for is Adele.
“I have plenty of artists to admire and I’m rooting for Adele. I recognize myself in her style of music and I feel that she really deserves it.”
