LANCO stopped to speak with Billboard’s Laela Zadeh on the red carpet at the 53rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, discussing the success of their song “Greatest Love Story” and their upcoming joint tour with Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborne.
Asked how it feels to hear crowds singing along to their hit “Greatest Love Story,” frontman Brandon Lancaster says it is an “incredible feeling.”
“This is something we built years ago and played many shows to not a lot of people not singing anything,” he continues, “so to be in arenas this year and tour with some of our buddies and then having songs being sang back, it’s incredible. It’s a dream come true.”
Lancaster also chats about hitting the road with Dierks Bentley and Brothers Osborne later this year, calling it a “dream tour” and saying that LANCO looks up to those acts, both musically and as good friends of theirs.
“Every act has a different thing you can take away,” Lancaster says of what his band might learn from the two acts. “I think that Dierks is such a great entertainer and puts on such a great show, and we love his music. Then also Brothers, they have such a good chemistry with their band that we look up to and acknowledge. Every night, we’re always trying to learn and get inspired by our fellow creators.”
