Lady Gaga is returning to the Oscars this Sunday, riding high after an especially outstanding month: She performed a well-received national anthem at the Super Bowl as well as an innovative tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys the following week (she took last weekend off, apparently).
Now, Billboard‘s Woman of the Year will perform her Oscar-nominated tune “Til It Happens To You” at Sunday’s ceremony, and may even walk off with an Oscar for it (the smart money has her collaboration with Diane Warren to win the trophy for best original song).
While her performance Sunday is sure to be memorable, the singer has already given fans an attention-grabbing Oscar moment: Her medley of songs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Sound of Music during last year’s show. It earned her a standing ovation in the room (and likely in many living rooms across the country), as well as an embrace from a clearly touched Julie Andrews, who took the stage immediately following the number. Dame Andrews later told Billboard she thought the performance was “stunningly good.”
