“Shallow,” performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born, was named best song at the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards.
Lady Gaga took the stage alongside co-writer Anthony Rossomando to accept the award, which was presented by Mandy Moore and Ricky Martin, Sunday night (Jan. 13).
“Shallow” — written by Gaga, Rossomando, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt — is racking up awards this season, as it also won best original song at the 2019 Golden Globes on Jan. 6.
“Sometimes you just meet someone and you instantly feel like you’ve known them your whole life,” Gaga said of co-star Cooper in a red carpet interview ahead of the Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony. “When I met him, I saw an authenticity and love and kindness in his eyes, and he really is a tremendous human being. And he’s a brilliant, creative genius.”
A Star Is Born is up for best picture at the Critics’ Choice Awards, while Lady Gaga is nominated for best actress and Bradley Cooper for best actor and best director. The film also has nominations in the best supporting actor, best adapted screenplay, best cinematography and best editing categories.
