2018 Academy of Country Music Awards nominee, performer and social media correspondent Kane Brown stopped to chat with Billboard’s Kevan Kenney on the red carpet at the 53rd annual ACM Awards on Sunday (April 15) to discuss his various roles of the night and what fans can expect from his next album.
Speaking on his social media correspondent duties, Brown says, “You just get to run into artists that you don’t think you’d get to and hang out with them and talk to them. I’m not the best person to bring up people’s energy when it comes to social media, but it’s been fun and an awesome thing to learn.”
Brown — who recently told Billboard that if there were a book written about his life, he would call it Outcast — was also asked if his recent success makes him feel more or less like an outcast. “I feel more like an outcast, especially with the next album,” he states. “I’m definitely gonna be an outcast. I feel like I’m just trying to pave my own lane and just kind of make my own sound.”
