Justin Hurwitz took home the award for best original score at the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (Jan. 6). Idris Elba and Taylor Swift presented Hurwitz with the award, which serves as his third Golden Globe win.
Thanking his collaborators, Hurwitz said, “I’m in awe of how you guys put together something so complex.” The composer — who also scored 2016’s La La Land — was up against Marco Beltrami, Alexandre Desplat, Ludwig Goransson and Marc Shaiman in the category.
First Man, a biographical drama about Neil Armstrong, stars Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy and Jason Clarke.
The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Valence, the parent company of Billboard.
