John Legend celebrated love with a heartwarming performance of “Love Me Now” on Sunday night (Nov. 20). Clad in an all-white ensemble and shimmery jacket, the singer/songwriter/musician beamed images of various couples onto the big screen at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater.
The set mirrored the song’s actual video where Legend spotlighted his real-life wife Chrissy Teigen and their daughter Luna alongside universal representations of love.
“This next performer is a brilliant musician and a wonderful father who makes a pretty damn good breakfast sandwich and he has been known to write love songs about me,” said Teigen, who introduced Legend.
“What can I say? I’m very inspiring,” she continued, “but his songs are bigger than either of us and on the heels of what’s been a really interesting interesting f–ked up election for all of us, I think we could all use a little love tonight.”
Legend recently rolled out the funky collaboration with Chance The Rapper called “Penthouse Floor,” the second offering off his forthcoming album Darkness and Light, due Dec. 2.
