Awards season is here, with the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards coming up this weekend.
Taye Diggs is set to host the 26th annual event for the third time on Sunday (Mar. 7) at 7 p.m. ET/PT on The CW. For those without cable, The CW can be streamed live on Hulu, fuboTV and Sling TV, all of which offer free trials.
While the Critics Choice Awards honor the best in film and television over the past year, a number of music stars have made the nominations cut. The Netflix film Mank led the pack with 12 nods this year, including best score for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The Nine Inch Nails members are also nominated in the same category alongside Jon Batiste for the trio’s work on Disney’s Soul.
Zendaya and Golden Globe winner Andra Day are also up for best actress for their roles in Malcolm & Marie and The United States vs. Billie Holiday, respectively. Zendaya will also receive the SeeHer Award, which recognizes a woman who embodies the values of the SeeHer movement, which advocates for accurate portrayals of women and girls in advertising and media.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the live show will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event, with some presenters appearing from a Los Angeles stage, and nominees appearing virtually from around the world.
