Little Mix will pull double-duty by hosting and performing at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards this weekend, and Lady Gaga leads this year’s nominations with seven, including best song, best video and best collaboration for her No. 1 splash hit “Rain on Me” with Ariana Grande, who was last year’s leading nominee also with seven nods. BTS and Justin Bieber tie as runners-up to Gaga with five nods each.
The MTV EMA added three new categories this year: best Latin, video for good and best virtual live. The first two came directly from the MTV Video Music Awards, where they were introduced in 2010 and 2011, respectively. The awards show will also honor five “fearless women” from around the world with the MTV EMA Generation Change Award for their extraordinary work fighting for racial and social justice.
Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Maluma, Doja Cat, DaBaby, David Guetta, YUNGBLUD, Zara Larsson, Karol G, Tate McRae and Jack Harlow join Little Mix as the evening’s performers. But before then, Madison Beer, Why Don’t We and 24kGoldn will officially kick things off in the “pre-game” show.
The 2020 MTV EMA will also feature special appearances from DJ Khaled, Lewis Hamilton, Winnie Harlow, Bebe Rexha, Rita Ora, Big Sean, Roman Reigns, Anitta, Anne-Marie, Aya Nakamura, Barbara Palvin and Raye.
The MTV EMA will air globally on Sunday, Nov. 8, on MTV. In the U.S., you can tune in at 7 p.m. ET to see all the action.
